Nice riding today on the Woods Valley/Lake Wohlford route for Les, Mary Ann, & me. The heat is coming on and I, for one, hope that all those cold, rainy days are finally behind us for awhile.
Les was a happy rider, with recent repairs and upgrades to his bike, including a new SRAM Red Yaw front derailleur. I was engrossed with a new GPS/MP3 unit from Motorola that I'm initially inclined to love. But I'm going to try to be objective, and will tell all in a future product review that will eventually appear here. In the meantime, full disclosure demands that I say it was supplied to me testing.
Oh, where was I? The ride report... awesome weather, great scenery, and of course: a stop at the Lake Wohlford Cafe. After grabbing a bite, we were able to make the death-defying drop down to Escondido secure in the knowledge that we smelled of bacon.
Alrighty, then! Here's next week's ride... Del Dios & Elfin Forest Date: Tuesday April 24, 2012 Time: 9:00am Scenic riding with plenty of hills! Coffee stop in Escondido (or maybe San Elijo Hills.)
Also, this Thursday (4/19) will see the return of the Extra Credit Ride, Mountain Madness style... Route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/807286 Clip-In: 9:00AM Yes, leaving from Sunset Drive and going Mother's Cafe on Mount Palomar (up and down the South Grade Road.)
