Tuesday Ride report - Twin Oaks & Elfin Forest

4/25/2012

OK, the ride report's arrival was a bit late this week - just too much to do. But it's here now so enjoy!   The ridership consisted of Mary Ann, Rick, and me and we were pleased with the perfect weather. Rick was on his new Pinarello and it is a nice looking machine. Love that Italian Styling.

The route was changed a bit to allow us to get to San Elijo Hills from the north... yeah, Up and Over Twin Oaks Valley Road.  I checked and that hill hasn't gotten any lower since the last time we did it! The pay-off for the climb was the screaming downhill into SEH... unfortunately we got caught at on traffic light halfway down and had to start our speedy descent a second time and didn't quite get up to 40mph... fortunately that wasn't enough over the speed limit for the cop at the bottom of the hill with the radar gun on us to care!

Elfin Forest & Harmony Grove were, as usual, a highlight of ride. But there is a bit of roadwork going on now so we had to wait for a short traffic break. Still pretty good riding though.

The coffee stop in Escondido was at Peterson's and we all benefited from a sugar injection.

Next week, it's once again time for the...ACHD Ride
Date: Tuesday May 1, 2012
Time: 9:00am
Anything Can Happen Day. Group choice for route... Usually easy??

Cheers,
Steve

Les; even though Playboy says pink is a man`'s color, I don't think I could ride a pink bike . Its a 2010 Pinarello FP3.

Jerry; that is a Fizik intagrated seat bag. The bags bracket fits into a small slot in the back of the seat. I like it a bunch (both the bike and the bag) Now if I could just get some time to get out there and ride it.

Rick, I actually have one on my bike:). If you haven't done it already tie a little tether to the bag and attach it to your saddle rail otherwise you will lose that bag one of these days.
