Well, most of us were fooled by the predictions of a chilled, drizzley start for our ride today. Lots of extra gear didn't get used, but I think we'll trade pleasant temps and blue skies for having to tote a vest or arm warmers.
Rolling out of VV Park it was: Beth, Bob, Mary Ann, and me. We were met at Highland Valley Road by Shawna, who didn't get quite as much time to warm-up for the biggest climb of the day. After sumitting HVR, we peeled off down Bandy Canyon and did a short section on dirt, on Ysabel Creek Road, to get to the north side of San Pasqual Valley. The way back into Escondido then took us on Old Milky Way, Old San Pasqual Road, Idaho Street, and in-town on Chestnut Street. At least some of those roads were first-time rides for a few of us. In Escondido we made a stop at the new Belen Bakery location, which has much better seating than the old bakery. They still have the same great bread, sandwiches, pastries, and coffee! Next week's route is an old favorite... Del Dios Loop Date: Tuesday November 22, 2011 Time: 8:30am Out to Fairbanks Ranch, back on the Del Dios, with a stop at Nayeli's in Escondido. Cheers, Steve
