Had the hardcore riders for today's loop out to Highland Valley: Beth & Bob, plus me. We took advantage of the low turnout and perfect riding weather to complete the ride in a zippy 2hrs 35mins. Well, at least that was the time as far the end of Highland Valley where B&B headed north while I turned south.
Anyway, if you missed today's ride you're out of luck tomorrow - looks like rain is coming - which made our sunshine cruise over Mount Woodson and along the Ramona Grasslands, with it's melodious meadowlarks, all the more enjoyable.
Beth once again proved that a folding bike with 20 inch wheels is no impediment to distance or speed as she piloted the Tern masterfully - and that bike has a kickstand! All I had to show off was my dollar bill tire boot which I hadn't yet replaced after yesterday's "drywall screw through the tire" incident.
Next week we'll get to enjoy Woods Valley Road and the spine-tingling descent of Lake Wohlford Road:Lake Wohlford & Woods Valley Date: Tuesday April 17, 2012 Time: 9:00am Scenic riding with plenty of hills!
