A short ride report today, to match the fast riding of our tight-knit group: Matt, Rick, and me. As expected the weather was perfect, some early cloud cover and a bit of sunshine towards the end, so that helped us maintain a healthy pace over the numerous rollers on the route. How fast were we? Oh, about 3:10 of ride time to cover about 48 miles. The RideWithGPS map says almost 3300' of elevation. I don't know... seems like we did OK.
Maybe Rick can send a link to his GPS data after he uploads it?? I liked the combo of Del Dios and Elfin Forest. It was fun shooting down Lake Drive and the DD Hwy and taking Elfin Forest west-to-east was a winner too. No coffee stop today... I guess we finished too quickly to need one! Next week's route... Sprinter Special Date: Tuesday July 19, 2011 Time: 7:30am Start: Escondido Transit Center We'll begin with a ride on the Sprinter from Escondido to Oceanside. Get to the Escondido Transit Center early to buy your ticket. The train leaves at 7:33AM! From the Oceanside station, we'll take San Luis Rey bike path inland, pass through Bonsall, and follow Old 395 south back to Escondido. Cheers, Steve
