Excellent riding today as the Birria or Bust riders made it all the way up Old 395 to the Pala Taco Shop. Our starting crew out of Valle Verde Park consisted of Liz, Matt, and me, and we were joined at Deer Springs Road by Mary Ann. Obviously Mary Ann wanted a hill workout, as she got to do three major climbs, totaling over 2,300', in just about 20 miles.
Yeah, this route had lots of rollers, but we managed them well and made it back to RB just after noon. And we didn't have an electric bike to take us over the hills like one guy we saw. Today we garnered applause from folks along the road, and one guy at the top of a hill wanted to know who won the Tour de France. Much nicer than getting run off the road by a truck! And the weather was just perfect with a pleasant breeze to keep things cool.
Next week, its again time for group choice...
