We had good luck with today's Java Journey ride - crisp temps and plenty of clouds, but no wind or rain!
After answering a small flurry of texts and voice mails, Matt and I determined that we were the crew for the day, except for Mary Ann, who had made an early start. So we rolled out and began a leisurely chase, almost too relaxed I guess, because Mary Ann was turning back from the Valley Center climb before we met up with her. Despite professing a need to be back for an urgent appointment, we convinced her that climbing the hill up to Valley Center was more important than meeting with the undercover agent of a deposed president who needed her $5000 cashier's check to help them move large sums of money out of their country. But in exchange we had to make the top of the hill our turnaround point for the day - no Java!! Next week, we head west (...Caffe Positano stop?): Rancho Santa Fe Ramble Date: Tuesday December 20, 2011 Time: 9:00am Tree, hills, and mostly low-traffic. Cheers, Steve
