A few pictures from the Palomar Mountain 200 Brevet. It was a lot of Extra Credit for Les and me as we dealt with what Les called the Triple H Threat: Hills, Heat, and Headwind. Les also had to overcome a balky derailleur (no big ring for half the course) and the loss of his main headlight, which decided to rattle to pieces and fly away down East Grade Road, while descending Mount Palomar.
We slugged away at from dawn to dusk along with a small contingent of San Diego Randonneurs and happily got to notch our belt with another 200km ride. Have to give a shout out to John M., the course owner, who also rode the brevet, and kept us honest by dogged pursuit and showing up when least expected!
