Thx to Beth and Bob for joining in, all or part, on today's ride up Mount Palomar. The early morning cold proved to be nowhere near what the upper elevations of the mountain had to offer. Kudos to Beth for burning up the hill - dang who'd a thunk she'd believe me when I said you only needed the middle ring of a triple to get to the top? Dropped me and my puny 34t ring like a stone.
And did I say it was cold?? Going up was manageable but descending... yikes... thought my eyes would freeze and shatter. It's all relative though, getting down to the 48-50F zone felt tropical. I tried to get some snow pix, but they just show a lot of featureless white! The bikes look happy though, and the mountain top wreathed in clouds is alright too. Cheers, Steve
