Despite the fact that so many VVV riders are enjoying far-flung locales such as, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Florence, we still had a nice peloton for the Del Dios Loop. Normally this route isn't too heavy with cars on a Tuesday morning, but a long stretch of road into Rancho Santa Fe was way busier than normal today - it turns out that there was a wreck on I-15 that caused lots of folks to detour off to the Del Dios Highway. Unfortunately for them it just lead to another long traffic jam, and fortunately for us, we were headed in the opposite direction!
We took a break in Escondido to try out the latest flavors from EscoGelato. The gelato was up to its usual high standards and it looked like there were very few non-indulgers today.
This week's ridership: 13 Cyclists (3W / 10M)
Including one new rider, Wally; and the long-absent Christian!
Next week we head west again ...
